Deep in the damp darkness of the forests of Western Jutland, the trees speak. Elder trees waiting to share secrets about the healing powers of their flowers and fruits. The mighty oak telling tales of lives unfolding, having witnessed the rise and fall of families, villages, and rulers for hundreds of years.

Amidst them stands a small beech tree. A youngster still, but wise. For in her roots, remembrance dwell. She possesses a wisdom which transcends time. And if you listen closely, with an open heart, she will share her stories. In the early autumn time, as the leaves were drawing their last breath on the tree’s tired branches, she told me a story. And there, sat beneath her elegant crown I heard the “Eversong”.
